A genuine, specific electrical weak point worth checking if there's no motor noise: the wiring running from the A-pillar into the door passes through a rubber grommet at exactly the point where the door flexes every time it's opened and closed. Over years of use, this is a well-documented weak point where the wire sleeve can crack or the wire itself can eventually break from repeated flexing. Removing this grommet and checking the wiring for visible damage is worth doing before assuming a more complex fault.
